This suspended permit is located just west of the Hwy 75 Bridge in west Topeka. This permit was owned by Holliday Sand and Gravel and sold to Victory Sand and Gravel (which is owned by Meier’s Ready Mix). The Army Corps of Engineers required Victory Sand and Gravel to leave this location in August of 2006 because of unacceptable degradation to the riverbed (lowering of the bed of more that 2’ in a five year period). If the river agrades (sand settles on the bottom and raises the bed back up) the dredge could return to this location. (See Google Map above)
