Paddle Down the Kaw

Can you imagine paddling down a river all the way from it’s beginning to it’s end?

The Kansas Riverkeeper, Laura Calwell, kayaked from the beginning of the Kansas River in Junction City to its end in Kansas City, where it runs into the Missouri River. That’s 171 miles! It took 11 days (plus one) to make the trip. Laura took everything she needed with her. She paddled by day, camped on sandbars at night, met some tent toads, and even had a party!
