Take I-70 to the Manhattan exit #313 and head north on K-177 approximately 8 miles. Just before you cross the Kaw River bridge turn left on McDowell Creek Road. Take McDowell Creek Road 100 yards and turn right onto a packed gravel road that takes you under the K-177 bridge and down to the Kaw.

Access Info:
There is a gravel parking area that is out of view from the highway. This well developed, lighted area offers a convenient place for boaters to leave cars. Concrete ramp is 20 ft wide with a standard 12 % slope with traction grooves. You can park under cover of the bridge and within 50 feet of the ramp. Concrete extends 30 feet out into water. Shade in summer.

Float Info:
The next access is Linear Park Access 1.8 mile downstream and is about .4 miles up the Blue River on river left. The St. George Access is at river mile 137, 12 miles down stream on river left. This is a nice beginner’s paddle with city services nearby at both ends, though at 12 miles it is one of the longer day-trips.
