Hydrocache Safely!

Before you go to the boat ramp, read these safety instructions:

  1. Listen to the weather report. Do not go sampling in heavy rain or if a storm is predicted.
  2. Do not walk on unstable river banks that might be in danger of erosion or collapse.
  3. Never wade in swift or high water.
  4. Stay out of the river as much as possible; the river bottom is slippery and might contain deep pools or sink holes. You also don’t want to disturb sensitive habitats.
  5. After finishing a water test, please dispose of the sample water in the square, plastic bottle provided. Return all materials (including the plastic bottle) to the cache.
  6. Please don’t put any additional items in the cache.
  7. Please report any problems with the caches to our staff.
